RETURNS WITH CUTTINGS REMOVED WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Rhaphidophora cryptantha is a unique and rare aroid from Southeast Asia, known for its silvery blue-green leaves that are highlighted with distinctive silver veins. It's commonly referred to as the Shingle Plant, along with a few similar species. This climbing plant's leaves grow flat against a tree rather than spreading outwards. Rhaphidophora Cryptantha thrives in climates that are moist and moderately sunny. It requires ample light and fertile soil with good moisture to climb to its full potential. However, excessive sun or moisture can lead to overfeeding, which is harmful to the delicate nature of these shingling plants, as they can only tolerate intermediate levels of feeding. Indoors, the growth of Rhaphidophora Cryptantha will depend on the space it's given, whether it's grown with a moss pole for support or in a terrarium. In its early stage, the plant has slender stems and small leaves, growing horizontally. As soon as it finds a climbing surface, it will start to climb. Young leaves are less than an inch in diameter, while mature leaves can reach up to 3 inches in diameter. R. Cryptantha is not tolerant of direct sunlight and should be placed in bright, indirect light for best results. It can tolerate artificial light well. If you plan on moving the shingle plant outdoors, it's best to acclimate it to the bright light by gradually increasing its exposure. R. Cryptantha flourishes in warm temperatures and cannot withstand cold or frost. It's recommended to grow it indoors at temperatures ranging from 55 to 80 °F. If you reside in a colder climate, it's advisable to bring your outdoor vines indoors before winter to protect them.Shipping Notes
